Christ's Kingdom and Judgment, 97
The Lord of Love, the Lord of Might,
The King of all created, Shall back return to claim His right
On clouds of glory seated ; With trumpet-sound, and angel-song, And hallelujahs loud and long,
O'er death and hell defeated.
Bishop Reginald Heber. 1827
LXXXVIIT.
See, the ransomed millions stand, Palms of conquest in their hand; This before the Throne their strain; " Hell is vanquish'd ; death is slain ; " Blessing, honour, glory, might, " Are the Conqueror's native right; "Thrones and powers before Him fall; " Lamb of God, and Lord of all !"
Hasten, Lord ! the promised hour ; Come in glory and in power ; Still Thy foes are unsubdued ; Nature sighs to be renewed : Time has nearly reach'd its sum, All things with Thy Bride say, Come ; Jesus, whom all worlds adore, Come, and reign for evermore !
Josiah Conder. 1837—1856,
LXXXIX.
